The Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" (re Rate of License Tax) as a Basis and in its Entirety

Pursuant to the Bill (Reg. No.3681), the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is authorized to determine the rate of duty for the issue and prolongation of the license for broadcasting and the license of software service provider. The Cabinet of Ministers is supposed to enhance the procedure of determining the rate of license tax with account taken of the influence of economic crisis on the financial conditions of television and radio broadcasting organizations.

 

The Committee members believe that adoption of the Bill will stabilize activity and reduce tension in the television and radio broadcasting organizations under the conditions of economic recession.
