It is necessary to elaborate systematic approach to the settlement of issues in Ukraine. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the said statement at the meeting with Grigol Vashadze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
V.Lytvyn underscored the "unique importance" of relations between Ukraine and Georgia, including their inter-parliamentary constituent. He also stated: "We are willing to boost cooperation between the Committees and the Parliament at the level of both bilateral, and international relations".
Dwelling upon the cooperation with European institutions, especially with the European Union, V.Lytvyn stated that "this complicated time is the moment to understand the necessity of close relations with Europe", and Ukrainian Parliament will take active part in the development of such relations.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia expressed his concern with the establishment of relations with the European Union, and underscored the Georgia´s permanent orientation to the NATO.
According to V.Lytvyn, "it is essential to restore the dialogue with the IMF due to the necessity to restore the confidence of international financial institutions in Ukraine".
V.Lytvyn stressed the irreversibility of democratic processes in Ukraine and warned against the use of force for the settlement of economic issues.
Commenting upon the Ukraine´s accession to the NATO, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that "it is necessary to move only forward, not to talk about the destination point".
V.Lytvyn also stressed the importance of presence of Ukrainian representatives at the European institutions as observers.
