The Committee on Self-Building and Local Self-Government recommends that the Parliament adopts as a Basis the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Political Parties in Ukraine" (re Registration of Parties and Supervision over their Activity)

The Bill (Reg. No.3260) introduces amendments to Articles 5-6, 8-11, 14-18, 20-24 of the effective Law in order to regulate the procedure of registration of political parties and their local organizations, supervision over their activity and institution of proceedings for violation of legislation on political parties.

 

According to the Committee members, the Bill eliminates a number of gaps and discrepancies of the effective Law. Thus, the People´s Deputies uphold the suggestion of the Bill concerning detailed description of the procedure of setting up and registration of a political party and its organizations. Moreover, the Bill presupposes establishment and legalization of primary centers of a political party, and specifies requirements concerning its name and symbols.
