The Committee on State Building and Local Self-Governing recommends that the Parliament direct the Bill "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine" (re dividing of the Functions and Authority of the Kyiv Mayor and Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration)

The Bill (Reg.2023) introduces the amendments to the Laws "On the Capital of Ukraine - hero city Kyiv", "On Local State Administrations", according to which "elected mayor of the Kyiv city can not accomplish at the same time the duties of the Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration".

It is supposed that the Chairman will be nominated and dismissed by the President of Ukraine, suggested to the post by the Cabinet of Ministers.

The Parliamentarians stressed that the Mayor and the Chairman of the City State Administration have almost the same duties that is why two posts with almost the same managing duties will not work effectively within the boundaries of the one and the same city as "principles and rules of such cooperation are not suggested by the Bill".
