Chairman meets foreign auditors to enhance and smooth further co-operation

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov met with heads of delegations of supreme auditing institutions of the Azerbaijan Republic, Georgia (Sakartvelo), the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Armenia.

Participants of the meeting exchanged their views on the importance of the auditors’ mission in terms of controlling the use of budgetary funds.

The speaker of the parliament stated that relations with audit offices would always remain friendly, open and constructive. He also stressed that the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine is the main control mechanism in the country. In addition, the Chairman emphasized that the Accounting Chamber’s role is crucial in drafting Ukraine’s 2020 state budget. According to him, the chamber’s positive initiatives will be supported and implemented.

In his turn, the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine Valerii Patskan emphasized that the Accounting Chamber remains to be a reliable partner of the Verkhovna Rada in the budget and planning process.

The Chairman of the Committee on Budget Yurii Aristov stressed that the outmoded approaches to budgeting and use of public funds are things of the past. "We will build budget processes based on progressive approaches and innovations implemented in developed countries," he said.

At the same time, Director of the GIZ GmbH Good Governance’ Programme Thomas Meyer stressed the need for close cooperation between accounting chambers in areas of major importance for economic development, in particular, in the areas of energy efficiency, private sector and government of a state.
