During the third session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation the Committee on European Integration has scrutinized 212 Bills of the Laws on the correspondence to the Law of European Union, norms and principles of GATT/WTO, obligations of Ukraine before the European Council.
According to the demands of the accomplishment of the first stage of the State Compulsory program on adaptation of the Ukrainian System of Laws to the System of Laws of European Union, according to the adopted on the 14th of January 2009 by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Law "On Amendments to the State Compulsory program on adaptation of the Ukrainian System of Laws to the System of Laws of European Union", until the period of validity of the Treaty on the Cooperation and Partnership between Ukraine and European Copartnerships and their countries-members, the Committee receives all the Bills of the Laws that are introduced to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Within the framework of the Parliamentary Control on the 16th of September 2008 the Committee held the joint Meeting of the Ukrainian Part of the Committee on Cooperation between Ukraine and EU, Committee on European Integration and Ukrainian Part on the Parliamentary Cooperation between Ukraine and EU. The goals of the meeting were the following: the advancement of the work on the Bills, the adoption of which will facilitate the accomplishment of the Plans of Actions Ukraine EU in year 2008, provision of the cooperation between the Government with the People´s Deputies during the Elaboration of the Bills. The Committee has also scrutinized number of issues re accomplishment of the duties by the Government aimed at the strengthening of European Integration.
The Committee took part in the informative and eliminating work, in particular in organization of the International Seminar " Expert Evaluation of the European Reforms in Ukraine: State and Perspectives"
Within the framework, the Chairman of the committee, Borys Tarasiuk took part in the International Conference "East Dimension of European Policy of Cooperation" (4-5 of June 2008).
The members of the Committee took part in the work of 55th Plenary Session of West European Union Assembly, 54th Annual Session of NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
The Committee has held more than 30 meetings with the famous politicians and representatives of the official circles of the foreign countries.
