VRU elects D.Razumkov as its chairman

Dmytro Razumkov was elected to be the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada. 382 parliamentarians voted for him.

In his pre-voting speech, the politician stressed a low confidence level to the Verkhovna Rada of late years and that “the people of Ukraine decided to make an end to this situation by casting their votes in the early parliamentary election”. According to the candidate, among the prime tasks of the Verkhovna Rada of the ninth convocation there is restoring the people’s confidence.

In his address, D.Razumkov then determined three main directions for fundamental changes that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the ninth convocation should make. It is first of all wide reforms in government institutions, including the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine itself. In the second place, it is cleansing the authorities from venal practices, cutting the red tape and overregulation, and thirdly, quick starting of economic growth mechanisms.

He also outlined the tasks to be resolved by the new convocation parliament.
