Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, discussed the Methods of Cooperation between the Parliament and the Local Self-Government Bodies with the Chairmen of Regional Councils

On Thursday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met the chairmen of the regional councils who participated in the Parliament´s sitting during the discussion of the economic situation in the country and presentation of the Government´s report.  

 

Thus, V.Lytvyn believes that specific actions to be taken to reduce influence of the financial and economic crisis should be determined jointly with the local councils.

 

The participants of the meeting discussed possible formation of a consultative-advisory council in charge of the development of local self-government, and methods of regulation of the establishment and activity of the said council. 

 

It is expected that the resolutions of the council will be scrutinized and taken into account by the profile committees in accordance with the subject of their competence.  

 

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine suggested setting up a working group to elaborate the Bill on amendments to the State Budget in the part of local budgets.
