The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy calls on all those who fought and struggled for the freedom of Ukraine to come on August 24 out to Khreshchatyk for a march-past

Opening a plenary meeting on Wednesday, the Chairman Andriy Parubiy expressed his negative attitude to the abolition of the Independence Day military parade.

"For Ukrainian patriots this day is a pivotal, the mainest holiday. Indeed, for the sake of Independence and Statehood many generations of Ukrainians have sacrificed themselves. Thousands of our contemporaries – Ukraine’s best daughters and sons - have died for the country’s independence in the recent war with an imperial Russia, the war which is already in its fifth year,” he emphasized.

A.Parubiy called on all those who fought and battled for the freedom of Ukraine - members of the Revolution of Dignity, veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war, volunteers, and the military to go on August 24 out to Khreshchatyk and to march in review down the street in order to honour the immortal feat of arms of Ukrainian heroes.
