The Committee on Foreign Affairs recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill on Ukraine's Accession to the Vienna Agreement Establishing an International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks

15 January 2009, 16:38

The Agreement secures rights and obligations of the participating States in the field of use of the International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks as a unified means for registration of documents at the international level.

The International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks is a unified means for registration of documents at the international level and an effective instrument to be used by the departments and applicants while searching for detection of a distinctive capacity of a figurative mark. The Classification is of administrative character and does not impose obligations for the countries of a Special Union concerning character and rate of legal protection of marks.

Adoption of the Bill (Reg. No.0097) on Ukraine´s Accession to the Vienna Agreement Establishing an International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks will facilitate harmonization of the national legislation with the international law.
