The aim of the Convention, adopted on the 5th of May 1989 in Strasbourg and signed by Ukraine on the 14th of June 1996 is "assistance in transfrontier broadcasting and rebroadcast of television programs that correspond to the demands of people´s dignity respect and stick to the human rights in countries-members of Council of Europe; strengthening of the cultural heritage of Europe and development of audio and visual art".
The corresponding bill is registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (№0095)
