The Committee on Public Health recommends that the Parliament declines the Draft Resolution "On Governmental Support of a Specialized Spinal Sanatorium named after M.N.Burdenko in Saky, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea"

Pursuant to the Draft Resolution (Reg. No.3154), within two months, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is to elaborate measures to be taken to transfer the specialized spinal sanatorium into the public ownership. Moreover, in 2009, the Draft Resolution envisages complex major repairs of the sanatorium, reconstruction of available premises and construction of new ones, including an indoor sea-water pool, provision of necessary modern medical equipment, specialized transport for conveyance of the sick and transportation of therapeutic muds.

At present, the issue concerning union property, including sanatorium named after M.N.Burdenko, fails to be regulated legislatively. Thus, pursuant to the Resolution of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of 04 February 1994 "On the Property of the National Public Organizations of former USSR", the property in question is in the national ownership. At the same time, it stays in the ownership of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine, i.e. closed joint-stock company "Ukrprofozdorovnytsia".

The Committee members deem necessary to take measures aimed at preservation and development of sanitaria and health sector of Ukraine in order to define the subjects of the property ownership.
