“Putting a ban upon return fire makes no path to peace, it is a highroad to capitulation,” – Chairman A.Parubiy

At the very start of the morning session, the Chairman called the president’s new Minsk initiative to be a disturbing situation. The point is that return fire is seen to be totally banned for Ukrainian armed forces. “We have already had today a dead Ukrainian soldier alongside twelve wounded in action," A.Parubiy observed.

“When we do not shoot back to the enemy’s fire – the death toll we have becomes heavier and heavier…,” underlined the head of parliament.

A.Parubiy also stressed that Ukraine has been for five years conducting a national liberation struggle. “We will not put out a white flag before the Russian aggressor,” he stressed, and then voiced his confidence that “as this is the stance of the people  of Ukraine, the president thus ought to realign his position, showing a sincere respect to Ukrainian warriors who are defending the lands of Ukraine at the risk of their lives”.

“We shall not tolerate capitulation,” issued the Chairman a warning.
