The Bill (Reg. No. 3190) is aimed at improvement of current Ukrainian legislation on the protection of cultural heritage. It coordinates terminology of certain legislative acts with the Law "On the Protection of Cultural Heritage".
Moreover, the Bill enhances legal principles of activity of historico-cultural reserves, enhances their protection and responsibility for its violation.
The Committee members believe that introduction of the term "historico-cultural protected territory" will regulate the issue concerning protection of monuments of cultural heritage located at the territory of a settlement that can not be declared a historico-cultural reserve.
The Bill also raises penalties for violation of legislation on the protection of cultural heritage. Thus, the highest rate of penalty will make up 1700 UAH (at present 136 UAH).
