The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy opened the morning plenary session.

The list of issues to be considered at the plenary meeting on May 29:

1.     The 2018 performance report of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.

2.     Recommendations of parliamentary hearings on preventing and combating discrimination against women from vulnerable social groups  (bill No.9408) and implementation of international documents on the prevention of anthropogenic climate change (bill No.9129).

3.     Ratification of international compacts with governments of Austria, Turkey, and Great Britain.

4.     Draft law “On the Decision of the Association Council between Ukraine and the EU on amendments and additions to energy Annex XXVII to the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU” (bill No.0227).

The presiding officer gave the floor to representatives of the parliamentary factions and groups to make their announcements, statements, reports, and proposals.

Following the speeches, the Chairman asked the members of the Committee on Legal Policy and Justice to meet at noon and consider the resignation of the Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman and decided on the second reading of a comparative table to the draft Election Code and the draft law on temporary investigative commissions (commissions of inquiry).

Afterwards, the presiding officer gave the floor to Valerii Patskan, the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine (AC) to deliver its 2018 performance report. The officer reported on the main results of the chamber's activity over the past year. Concluding the speech, the chamber head appealed to parliamentarians to take note of the accounting chamber’s report.

Valerii Patskan answered the questions from the floor later on.

Ivan Krulko, the head of the Committee on Budget’s sub-committee then stressed the need to regularly hear the chamber's reports and spoke up for hearing AC reports annually.

The budget committee commended the Verkhovna Rada to take note of the accounting chamber's report and approve the relevant recommendations to the Accounting Chamber for further consideration.

Parliamentarians then considered the draft resolution No. 9408 on recommendations of parliamentary hearings on preventing and combating discrimination against women from vulnerable social groups. The paper was finally voted down.
