The Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information recommends that the Parliament adopt the Bill "On the protection of the Professional activity of Journalists"

The members of the Committee stressed that according to the bill (Reg. №2636) it is suggested to determine the principles of the professional activity of the journalist his rights, liberties and duties, guarantees of the professional activity and the order of their accreditation. Moreover, the principles of self regulation and international cooperation in the sphere of journalistic activity and the responsibility for the violation of the laws on the protection of the professional activity of the journalists should be determined.

The attention was also pointed out to the fact that "nowadays the journalistic activity is govern by the principles that are out-of-the-date and do not correspond the international norms".
