Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recommends the President of Ukraine and his team to study Ukrainian history well and not seek ways to surrender to Russia

At the beginning of the extraordinary plenary meeting on Wednesday, May 22, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy stated that 140 years have passed today since the birth of the Chief Otaman of the UNR Army Symon Petliura. And tomorrow, on May 23, Ukrainians will celebrate the Day of Heroes. “None of these heroes would ever offer Ukrainians to have a reconciliation referendum with Russia. These people fought against Russia, they fought for Ukraine,” stressed the politician.

After this short excursus to the history of Ukraine the Chairman commended the new President of Ukraine and his team to study Ukrainian history well and not seek ways to surrender to Russia.

Then, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy announced a moment of silence on the occasion of the death anniversary of the OUN head Yevhen Konovalets, and all the soldiers who died for the freedom of Ukraine.
