The Bill (Reg. No.2707) introduces amendments to the Law "On Power Engineering" and the Civil Code of Ukraine.
The Committee members stated that the Bill aimed at creation of legal prerequisites for "necessary renovation of power engineering objects, creation of effective mechanisms concerning accumulation of funds by the power engineering subjects, their allocation for reconstruction, modernization and construction of power engineering objects, provision of undisturbed operation of power engineering objects".
Due to the subject of legal regulation, the Bill refers to the field of power engineering. In the European Union this sector is regulated by Directive 2003/55/EU of the European Parliament and Council of 26 June 2003 concerning common rules for the internal market in electricity.
The People´s Deputies stated that the Bill complied with the EU legislation.
