The Committee on Social Policy and Labour held a Round Table Discussion to discuss a New Version of the Law "On Organizations of Employers"

A round table discussion was attended by the People´s Deputies, representatives of Ministries, departments, trade unions and employers.  

 

Oleh Shevchuk, First Vice-Chairman of the Committee, stated that elaboration of the Bill was caused by the incompliance of its certain regulations with the Convention of the International Labour Organization № 87 concerning Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organize (1948), ratified by Ukraine in 1956, enhancement of the procedure of legalization of employers´ organizations and associations, the issue of representativeness, substantial extension of employers´ rights in the process of development and analysis of effectiveness of regulatory acts, etc.  

 

The participants of the round table discussion discussed specifics of legal regulation, principles of establishment and activity of employers´ organizations, basic methods of their cooperation with public authorities, local self-government bodies, trade unions, and public associations.
