Mykola Tomenko: Ukrainian peacemakers in Kosovo are among the most professionally trained and responsible.

On 23 November, Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, visited Kosovo as a member of Ukrainian delegation, where together with Yuriy Lutsenko, Minister of Internal Affairs, he visited the quartering of the special peacemaking subdivision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

In the course of the Medal Parade, Mykola Tomenko stated that our peacemaking contingent was recognized as one of the most professionally trained, responsible and disciplined in Kosovo. Therefore, our State takes pride in their worthy representation of Ukraine due to proper fulfillment of peacemaking functions in Kosovo.

The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also remarked on high professionalism of our peacemakers in the field of public order protection and training of new national police personnel.

Mykola Tomenko upholds the resolution of The Verkhovna Rada appertaining to the possibility of withdrawing the said contingent. He upholds further stay of peacemakers in Kosovo, as such activity under the auspices of the United Nations Organization forms positive image of Ukraine as a country that is concerned with stability and peace in Europe. Mykola Tomenko also informed that the contingent would be transferred under the protectorate of the European Union in the nearest time.
