The Committee on Science and Education adopted the Guidelines of the Round Table Discussion "The Challenges of the National Education and Science within the Scope of the Global Financial and Economic Crisis"

Thus, pursuant to the Guidelines, budget financing of science and education is increased starting from Year 2009, and should gradually reach 1,7% of the GDP.

 

Moreover, the Guidelines envisage creation of new workplaces by means of effective stimulation of innovation policy, improvement of State support of technological parks.

 

The Guidelines contain regulations concerning competitive ability of the universities, especially by the greater scope of autonomy, including financial self-regulation.  

 

The Committee passed a resolution that the guidelines of the round table discussion should be forwarded to the relevant ministries and departments.
