It was stressed on the Meeting that the participation of Ukraine in the treaty will assist closer international cooperation in the field of the intellectual property rights, harmonization of the national legislation with international one in the sphere of protection of rights on the industrial samples and is sure to have the positive impact on the effectiveness of the protection of rights on the industrial samples in Ukraine. The corresponding law is registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, №0086.
It was also declared that the appropriateness of the joining of Ukraine to the Treaty comes from the Instruction to Geneva Act of Hague Treaty on the international registration of industrial samples; Treaty on cooperation between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and World Intellectual Property Organization; obligations of Ukraine in the course of the negotiation process with European Union, assumed during the consultation in Brussels in April 2007.
