The Bill (Reg. No.2564) envisages ratification of the National Program on Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child aimed at provision of adequate operation of the integral system of legal and social protection of a young generation in Ukraine.
The Program envisages the following measures: to increase the ratio of normal delivery to 70 per cent as compared with 2007 till Year 2010; secure birth of at least 90 per cent of children at the establishments with the status "Hospital benevolent to a Child" till Year 2010; till 2016, reduce the death rate among the children under five years of age by a third as compared with Year 1990; enhance the quality and extend the range of medical services render to the adolescents, reducing the dearth rate of adolescents by 10 per cent till 2010.
The Committee believes that adoption of the Bill will render a possibility to settle the problems of childhood systematically and prevent irrational use of resources allocated for enhancement of children´s situation.
