Mykola Tomenko: Ukraine is in need of a Chairman who will assume responsibility for the situation in the country along with the Government.
Today Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, delivered a speech at the Parliament, and stated that the BYuT would immediately uphold the candidacy for the post of a Chairman who would clearly define his policy principles of work at the office in question, determine priority of Laws and assume the responsibility for the socio-economic situation in Ukraine along with the Government.
«We are concerned neither with the surname of a future Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, nor his party membership. We are concerned only with the laws he will introduce, and his willingness to secure stable situation in Ukraine", - stated Mykola Tomenko. He supposes that the Chairman should initiate scrutiny of the Law on social protection of the population and protection of Ukrainian economy; consideration of the Draft Budget for the following year; secure order at the Session Hall, and remain independent of other authorities.
"Responsibility, cooperation, coalition or at least public commitments concerning activity of a new Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine are those requirements that our political force sets before a future Chairman", - stressed Mykola Tomenko.
