The Plenary Meetings on October 2008

ON FRIDAY, 24TH OF OCTOBER, THE PLENARY MEETING OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE WAS HELD 

The Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Mykola Tomenko opened the meeting. He announced that the consultations "in Government, with President and in Factions" were being held now, and the Conciliation Council of the Faction Leaders will be held at 10.30 at the Cabinet of Arseniy Yatseniuk, M. Tomenko announced the break till 11.30 and then prolonged till 13.00

After the break the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatseniuk has informed on the result of the Conciliation Council. He announced that the six bills appertaining to the overcoming of the consequences of Global Financial Crisis were registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. However, neither of the bills had the vote of confidence. In order to settle the said issue, the Chairman deems necessary to adopt amendments to the schedule of meetings of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and hold the plenary meeting in the next week.

A. Yatseniuk believes that the effective voting on the said issue is of vital importance. The Parliament adopted the resolution "On amendments to the schedule of the third session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation" (Reg.№ 3313) by 368 votes.

Then the plenary meeting was closed.

Pursuant to the amended schedule of the third session, the next plenary meeting will be held on Tuesday, 28th of October.
