At the very off of the Conciliation Board meeting, the Chairman A.Parubiy emphasized on Monday a number of significant matters needful to be dealt with during the ongoing plenary week:
The Chairman also congratulated everybody on the synodal decision about the Tomos and the Charter for the Local Orthodox Ukrainian Church.
A.Parubiy limelighted core questions of the current plenary week to
be considered by the parliament.
According to him, Tuesday shall see a five-part cluster of questions pertaining to protection of persons with disabilities. Agrarian matters shall also be part of this day, two of which concerning the euro-integration processes.
Wednesday, by tradition, shall be dedicated to ratification issues, with possible extension for the morrow.
On Thursday, the chamber shall examine a set of bills
concerning national security and defence, including those on status of veterans,
social protection guarantees and mine action.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine proposed to hear the Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova regarding the situation with the Ukrainian sailors gaoled in the Russian Federation. He then reminded that "24 Ukrainian sea men, who are of vital concern to the people of Ukraine, are now in the Kremlin’s hold".
The head of the parliament said that during his urgent visit to Brussels last week he had spoken about the situation over the Ukrainian sailors and their liberation at every meeting he had. Ukraine should do its best to enable the sailors to return home as quickly as possible.

After this statement, the Chairman clued up the audience he had had information from the Ecumenical Patriarchate about the date set for holding a Kyiv-based unifying bishops assembly to be convened with the aim to create the one church and elect its primate.
