The Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill on Amendments to Article 20 of the Law "On Public Associations" (re Right of Public Associations to appeal to Court in the Interests of their Members) as a Basis

The Bill (Reg. No.2511) authorizes public associations not only to represent and protect their legitimate interests at State and public bodies, but also to appeal to court for protection of rights, liberties and interests of their members.

 

The Committee believes that adoption of the Bill will eliminate discrepancies between regulations of the Law "On Public Associations" and the Civil Procedural Code, the Code of Administrative Legal Procedure of Ukraine. Moreover, it will secure formation of unified judicial practice in the said sector.
