Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, discussed the problems of overcoming the financial crisis with Ceyla Pazarbasioglu, Head of the International Monetary Fund Department Mission.
The Head of Ukrainian Parliament dwelled upon the political situation in the country. He supposes that current processes may influence the development of Ukrainian economy.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine told the Head of the IMF Department Mission that nationalization of commercial banks was to be performed in order to save Ukrainian banking system.
Dwelling upon cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, A.Yatseniuk stated that Ukraine was waiting positive signals and comprehensive assistance from the IMF.
In his turn, Ceyla Pazarbasioglu, Head of the IMF Department Mission, stated that Ukraine had a unique potential, though the world financial crisis also bore its influence on Ukrainian economy. She believes that Ukrainian authorities should develop a common legislatively secured plan for saving the economy in order to receive positive response from the IMF and overcome the consequences of economic instability.
