The Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill "On Moral Behaviour of Persons authorized to Perform Functions of the State and Local Self-Government Bodies" as a Basis

The Bill (Reg. No.2362) establishes general requirements to the moral behaviour of persons authorized to perform functions of the State and local self-government, as well as restrictions concerning abuse of official status, receipt of a gift, etc.   

According to the Committee members, "the Bill defines moral standards of behaviour, adherence to which should be a compulsory constituent of public service ideology and performance of other work connected with public functions". Moreover, the Bill aims at creation of effective mechanism for fighting corruption.   

The Committee recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill in question as a basis, taking due account of the introduced motions.
