The Members of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Elimination of Consequences of Chornobyl Disaster have held the meeting with the leading world expert in the field of the bioengineering, Doctor Will Hiddins.

During the meting that was organized by the United States Embassy in Ukraine, Doctor Hiddins expressed on the experiment that was held in USA in the sphere of use, regulation and control of the genetic modified organisms. (GMO)  

The People´s Deputy A. Tolstouchov stressed that the "society may have profit from the use of biotechnologies only if they will be produced due to the principles of the people´s health and the environmental protection". The members of the Committee are convinced that consumers must be aware of the presence of the GM components in the goods.

The Members of the Meting expressed hope for the further development of the cooperation in the sphere of geneticengineering.
