Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada, strongly objects to revision of the territorial division of Ukraine, i.e. depriving the Autonomous Republic of Crimea of the authorities of autonomy and converting it into the status of a region.
He regards declarations concerning status and belonging of the Crimean Autonomy as irresponsible and provocative.
"Autonomous Crimea is and will be the part of Ukraine. Its legal status is defined by Ukrainian Constitution and the Constitution of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea", - stated A.Yatseniuk. "I suppose that speculations concerning status of an autonomy fail to contribute either to stability within Ukrainian society, or to foreign political authority of our State", - underscored the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
A.Yatseniuk is convinced that particularism and anti-State attitudes are caused by economic obsolescence of the region.
According to A.Yatseniuk, the issues related to the enhancement of social and economic development of Crimea can be settled due to the revision of budgetary policy, implementation of substantial infrastructure projects, and development of recreation potential of the Autonomy due to attraction of foreign and Ukrainian companies.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that he would insist on actual filling of the budget of the Autonomy during formation of the State Budget of Ukraine for Year 2009 and in the course of its adoption.
