During the scrutinizing of the Bill "On television and radio broadcasting" (regarding the implementation of some of its statements in accordance with the constitution of Ukraine) (Re.№3140) in the second reading the Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Tomenko suggests the Parliament to preserve in the text of the Law the norm on the public boards status of the National television company of Ukraine and National radio broadcasting company of Ukraine.

He is convinced that it will help to overcome the present situation when the President illegally nominates the board of the National television company of Ukraine and his administration "rules" the contents of the new on the First National.

Giving comments to the worried reaction of the some politicians on the adoption of the bill "On television and radio broadcasting" (Re№3140) in the first reading, Mykola Tomenko remembered that neither Viktor Yushchenko´s team nor the team of the Viktor Yanukovych, the Prime Minister in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 5th convocation were not interested in the formation of the public boards.

"It is important that society may influence the work of the state television and radio broadcasting companies, and it can be fulfilled through the way of the active work of the public boards of the National television company of Ukraine and National radio broadcasting company of Ukraine", - Mykola Tomenko is convinced.

In particular he suggests to preserve in the redaction of the current law the norm on the fact that "In the National television company of Ukraine and National radio broadcasting company of Ukraine the public organization are preserved and 17 people are in the stuff of each. The order of its activity of the public boards are established by the statute of the television and radio broadcasting organizations."
