Chairman’s US working visit starts

On June 26, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy took part in the ceremony of raising the flag of Ukraine and the flag of the Crimean Tatar people over the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington on the occasion of the Crimean Tatars’ Flag Day.

"It is very symbolic that here in Washington, where we often raise the issue of protection of the Crimean Tatars and the liberation of the Crimea at the official level, we raise today, on the Flag Day of the Crimean Tatar people, our official flags, side by side, as a symbol of our unity, a symbol of our common victory," said Andriy Parubiy during the ceremony.

*** On June 25-29, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy will be on his working visit to the United States of America. The politician, together with the speakers of Georgia, Lithuania, Moldova and the Deputy Marshal (Vice-Speaker) of the Polish Senate, shall meet with the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, and other high-ranking US executives.

In conjunction with the Georgian, Lithuanian and Moldovan speakers, the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament is there also to partake in an international conference focusing on the pressing issues of the global security closely associated with the Russian aggression, and in the Atlantic Council’s discussions.
