The Draft Resolution (Reg. No.3166) envisages adoption of the Declaration, according to which, the Twelfth Summit Ukraine the EU (Paris, 9 September 2008) opened a new chapter in relations between Ukraine and the European Union.
The Declaration presents assessment of agreements reached in the course of the summit, which appertain to conclusion of the Agreement between Ukraine and the EU on association and launching of visa-free dialogue. The Declaration also includes a number of appeals to the European Union concerning implementation of actions that develop agreements of the summit in accordance with the Ukraine´s orientation towards EU-membership.
Borys Tarasiuk, Committee Chairman, stressed that such important agreements as signing of a new treaty in the format of Agreement on association and launching of visa-free dialogue, should be distinguished by The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as they complied with the stance declared in the Guidelines of Parliamentary Hearings on mutual relations and cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union.
