“The national security and defence law sure is to be passed on June 21,” – Andriy Parubiy

This has been stated by A.Parubiy, the Chairman of the Parliament, when opening a today’s Conciliation Board meeting. It is more than just important to undertake on the bill in question by the July NATO summit in Brussels.

“This should be a fundamental law on national security and defence.  I would like want to remind that this week is the deadline to approve the bill, since the summit of NATO is to take place in July, and before that we have to demonstrate that Ukraine is fulfilling its cooperation obligations before NATO,” said the Chairman.

He then added: “All amendments to the second reading of the bill have been agreed. On June 19, the committee assumes to hold the sitting on the topic, and we will thus be able to get down to reviewing it the next day, and then take the issue off the table on June 21”.

Under discussion, there will also be two large clusters of issues relative to the ATO veterans and protection of children this week.

“These are the major questions under discussion offered for this week.  I hope we’ll be able to unite over our international obligations," said Andriy Parubiy, the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament.
