On June 4, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy and the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman made a joint statement on the Supreme Anticorruption Court

“This week we ought to accomplish consideration of the supreme anticorruption court law.  The decision will be made on Thursday and, to my profound belief, this issue has become number one for both the Ukrainian society and the entire international community, which has been for four years assisting Ukraine in the war against the Russian aggressor and in the reformation of our state," emphasized the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy.

The high-ranking politician stressed that the Ukrainian society expected justice from the supreme authority in Ukraine.

The Chairman feels convinced that till the court in question locks up several high-ranking officials for graft, "until then, it will be very difficult for us to expect a full-scale and decisive fight against corruption". He emphasized that he would do his utmost to make the decision on creation of the anti-corruption court in full concordance with the expectations that "we have from the Ukrainian society".

In his turn, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman also underscored the urgency of the issue of an effective, real fight against corruption and expressed his conviction that "without the said court, this struggle will not prosper up".

According to the Prime Minister, there are all needful opportunities for economic development of the country at present, but "today we are put to a stern choice – either we are in further development and solving the problems to have accumulated in our state, or, if not adopted – we are getting into a downward whirl of destabilization".

“As the Prime Minister of Ukraine, I have decided for myself to return the seals and step down from my ministerial post once this court - a fair and independent one - will not be formed," stated Volodymyr Hroisman decisively.
