The celebration took place at the point of intersection of Ukrainian-Polish border Uhryniv-Dolbychiv. The People´s Deputies of Ukraine, Polish parliament members, representatives of clergy of both States, cultural workers, artists, sportsmen, young citizens attended the event.
Borys Tarasiuk, Chairman of the Committee on European Integration, stated: "Historical ways of our nations have always been interwined. Therefore, today it is especially pleasant to note dynamic development of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation, inspired not only by geographical proximity of our countries, but also by closeness of our national interests, depth of historical and cultural relations of our nations".
B.Tarasiuk declared: " Unfortunately, at present, Ukrainian-Polish border, unlike the Eastern and Southern ones, is more conspicuous, and often hampers in communication between the nations".
The Committee Chairman also underscored that "Good Neighbours Days diversify Ukrainian and Polish relations as relations of strategic partnership between good neigbours".
