The meeting was held due to the request of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Ukraine owing to the end of his diplomatic mission in Ukraine. The Parties discussed further development of bilateral relations and prospects of cooperation at the inter-parliamentary level.
Julio Garmendia Pena informed Oleh Bilorus about the political and economic situation in his country, and commented upon the prospects of tourist business.
The Committee Chairman informed the Ambassador of activity related to setting up a Deputy Group of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Inter-Parliamentary Liaison with the Republic of Cuba. O.Bilorus underscored that activity of the Committee is aimed at the development of totally new methods of cooperation with the parliaments of other countries.
