Within the Scope of Development of Bilateral Relations, Ukraine has a Priority Status for Turkey

"Within the scope of development of bilateral relations, Ukraine has a priority status for Turkey ", - stated Koksal Toptan, Speaker of Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, at the meeting with Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. 

 

Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, underscored that the leader of the Turkish Parliament visited Ukraine for the first time for the last 15 years. He expressed his hopes that the meeting would signify not only restoration, but also enhancement of the dialogue between the States. Arseniy Yatseniuk also expressed his gratitude for recent ratification of the international agreements in the fields of defence and education, the Agreement on Readmission, and the Agreement on Development of Ukrainian- Turkish Railway Communications. 

 

Arseniy Yatseniuk commented on economic cooperation between the countries, and stated that "creation of a free trade zone between Ukraine and Turkey is absolutely logical, since Ukraine accessed the WTO. Turkey is the second largest trade partner of Ukraine as regards export volume".

 

According to Koksal Toptan, Speaker of Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, common volume of trade totals $6 billion. The Parties also appreciated cooperation of both countries within the scope of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).

 

Koksal Toptan, Speaker of Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, invited Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, to make an official visit to his country.
