Pursuant to the Bill (Reg. No.2250), rates of import duty on disposable medical products are raised from 0% (syringes) and 4 % (blood transfusion apparatus) to 20%.
Due to the tariff obligations envisaged by the Protocol on Ukraine´s Accession to the World Trade Organization, import duty on the said goods is established at the rate of 0%. Therefore, increase of rates to 20% will result in violation of the international commitments of Ukraine.
The Committee members deem necessary to create favourable conditions of taxation in order to boost development of the national manufacture of disposable medical products. Then the Ukrainian production will be able to compete with relevant import goods not only at the internal market, but also at the markets in the member countries of the Commonwealth of the Independent States.
