Ukrainian educational system should develop personality, - believes Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed the said opinion during his visit to the National University "Ostrozka Academy" (Ostroh, Rivne region), where he presented his ideas concerning reforms of national education.
A.Yatseniuk underscored that a thousand of higher educational establishments that function in Ukraine is "too much". "One can choose two methods to reduce their number. The statistical method, i.e. holding another stage of attestation, is unreasonable. The other method compiling the list of higher educational establishments that are held in high esteem among the employees is more pragmatic, - stated the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This will be the best method to eliminate the defects in the educational system".
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dwelled upon the funding of Ukrainian higher educational establishments. Thus, at present, the rate of funding governmental order amounts UAH 10 billion.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called on the students for active participation in the political processes of the country.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine presented his book "Bank Secrecy in the Period of Orange Revolution" at the meeting with the faculty and the students.
