The Bill (Reg. No. 1462) introduces the title of honour of Ukraine "Honoured Miner of Ukraine".
The Central Committee of the Trade Union of the Metal Manufacture and Mineral Resource Industry Workers and the "Ukrrudprom" Association initiated the said issue to restore the USSR State decoration of 60th -70th of the XX century, and to acknowledge the immense contribution of workers and officials of mineral resource industry into the development of Ukraine´s economy.
The Parliament adopted the Decree of The President of Ukraine that changes the name of the occupational holiday "Metallurgist Day" to the "Day of Metal Manufacture and Mineral Resource Industry Workers", which enhances the relevance of introducing the title of honour "Honoured Miner of Ukraine".
The People´s Deputies believe that introduction of the title of honour "Honoured Miner of Ukraine" will have positive social and economic effect, since "it will enhance labour incentive in the mineral resource industry".
