During 2007, The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine received something in the region of 70,000 Appeals, Applications and Complaints from the Public

The Appeals Office within the Office and Administrative Department of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reported the continuously growing number of Appeals from the most socially vulnerable segments of the population throughout the past several years.. In 2005, 38.9% of such appeals were lodged, increasing in 2006 to 44.6%, and in 2007 to 47%.

 

In the last year Parliament received around twelve thousand appeals and complaints from the Retired and Senior Citizens, around five thousand from those disabled with non-specific ailments, more than four thousand from disabled Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and more than three thousand from labour Veterans.

 

In 2007, Committees dealing with privatisation within The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the Ad Hoc Supervisory Panel Committee within The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, considered 14,400 proposals, statements and complaints from citizens. This figure has increased by almost 500 compared to 2006. The largest number of applications has been dealt with by the Pensioners, Veterans and the Disabled Affairs Committee (3284), Organised Criminality and Corruption Combating (2116), Justice(1869), Economic Policy (1217), and .Law Enforcement Legislative Support (1104).

 

Throughout this period, the Deputies' Factions of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine have processed over 7,000 suggestions, applications and complaints.

 

 More than 3,000 citizens have appealed to Leaders of Parliament

 

Over 10,000 visitors addressed the People´s Deputies of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at oneto-one meetings.

 

According to the Secretariats of the Deputies´ Factions, in 2007 over 400,000 voters appealed to the People's Deputies of Ukraine, and their consultative assistants in the Electoral Districts. The People´s Deputies processed almost 100, 000 applications in writings, and held something in the region of 60,600 individual meetings with voters.

 

Suggestions, claims and complaints received from the public by The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine were administered in accordance with current legislation, and forwarded to the corresponding State Authorities, Local Governments, Public Prosecutors´ Offices, and Court Offices, and were periodically reviewed.
