Arseniy Yatseniuk, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, held a Working Meeting with the Chairmen of the Parliamentary Committees on Friday, 8 February

During the meeting the Parties discussed the issue regarding legislative activity of parliamentary Committees and dwelled upon its enhancement. Inter alia, they deem necessary to enhance legal, organizational, material and technical provision of the Committees in order to make their work more efficient.

The Chairmen of the Committees presented reports on their law-making activity, and introduced motions aimed at enhanced implementation of their authorities. The Chairmen also dwelled on participation of the People´s Deputies in the sittings of the Government and in the activity of boards of ministries and departments. 

In his turn, Yatseniuk A.P., the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, informed of his decision to uphold the motion of the Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure, Ethics and Support to Work of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine regarding the Bills, adopted by the Parliament of the previous Convocation from 2 April to 3 June 2007.

In the end of the meeting Yatseniuk A.P., the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, gave a number of commissions to the leaders of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate.

The representatives of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate, the leaders of the Secretariate subdivisions, the secretariat managers of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committees also attended the meeting.
