The Advisory Council was created for the sake of comprehensive analysis and consideration of the public opinion whilst elaborating and scrutinizing Ukraine´s legislation, and implementing Committee´s control functions in the field of science and education. The Advisory Council includes leading scholars and outstanding representatives of educational sector, namely: rectors and vice-rectors of leading higher educational establishments of Ukraine, representatives of Ukraine´s National Academy of Sciences and sectoral academies of sciences, prominent scholars and teachers.
Volodymyr Polokhalo, the Committee Chairman, defined the following tasks of the Advisory Council: conduct of expert judgement of the Bills and normative legal acts, participation in preparation of issues to be considered at the Committee´s meetings.
Yuriy Alekseyev, rector of Kyiv Institute "Slavic University", was appointed Coordinator of the Advisory Council.
