The Committee on Public Health recommends that the Parliament rejects the Bill on Amendments to Article 9 of the Law "On Protection of Population from Infectious Diseases"

10 June 2008, 10:40

The Bill (Reg. No.2257) regulates the procedure, according to which a person that gave rise to the epidemic or outburst of infectious disease among the population is to reimburse funds expended by the State for its overcoming.

The Bill supplements Article 9 with a regulation, pursuant to which, chief state sanitary physician of a relevant administrative unit is to bring in an action against natural persons or legal entities that gave rise to the epidemic or outburst of infectious disease that were overcome at the expense of local or State budget.

However, the said issue requires further elaboration concerning procedural matters. Therefore, the Committee resolved to reject the said Bill.
