Arseniy Yatseniuk, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, attended the 10th Meeting of the Joint Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation Ukraine-EU

Arseniy Yatseniuk, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, attended the 10th Meeting of the Joint Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation Ukraine-EU, held within the scope of his one-day working visit to Brussels (the Kingdom of Belgium).

 

Speaking before the distinguished meeting attendants, A.Yatseniuk stated that parliamentary cooperation can serve as a key factor for consolidation of partnership between Ukraine and the EU both in bilateral relations, and in the process of all-European integration.

 

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dwelled on a number of effective bilateral inter-parliamentary negotiations, held in Ukraine within the last years. He also reminded of Ukraine´s signing the Protocol on Ukraine´s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

 

A.Yatseniuk commented on the increased importance of the European Parliament. He stated that importance of parliamentary constituent in the development of Ukrainian State considerably increased on introducing amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, pursuant to which, Ukraine is a parliamentary-presidential republic.

 

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his hopes that European experience of parliamentarism will facilitate European integration of our State in the process of Ukraine´s gaining membership in the EU.

 

A.Yatseniuk expressed his gratitude to the attendants of the anniversary meeting for constructive approach in relations with Ukraine. He emphasized that "Ukrainian future is definitely with the European Parliament".
