The Committee on Science and Education initiates holding Ad Hoc Parliamentary Hearings regarding Development and Coordination of Oncological Science in Ukraine

At the meeting the Committee members listened to the information regarding the state of development and coordination of oncological researches in view of the fact that the Oncological Institute of Ukraine´s Academy of Medical Sciences was transferred to the field of administration of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine.

 

Pursuant to the Law "On Specifics of the Legal Regime for Activities of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Sectoral Academies of Sciences and the Status of Their Property Complex", sectoral academies of sciences shall be government scientific organizations of Ukraine that carry out fundamental research, organize, carry out and coordinate applied research in the relevant areas of science. To provide their functions, the Law "On Specifics of the Legal Regime for Activities of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Sectoral Academies of Sciences and the Status of Their Property Complex" establishes a special legal regime to the academies of sciences, according to which, alienation of land and property, granted by the State to the academies of sciences, should be performed in concordance with their Presidiums. 

 

The Committee believes that reorganization in the field of science should be performed with consideration of the specifics of development of oncological science.

 

The Committee members passed a resolution to recommend that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine creates an Ad Hoc Panel in order to elaborate coordinated and reasonable motions concerning development of oncological science and provision of quality medical treatment of oncological patients. Therefore, they call for considering the issue regarding termination of effect of the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 1186-р of 24 December 2007 "On Enhancement of Oncological Aid Efficiency".

 

Taking into consideration the importance of development and coordination of oncological science in Ukraine, the Committee passed a resolution to hold Ad Hoc Committee Hearings on the said issue.
