The State Building and Local Self-Government Committee recommends that Parliament adopts the Bill ,'On amendments to several Laws of Ukraine appertaining to regulation of activities of a political party', as a basis for further deliberation

The Bill (Reg. No.1236) envisages ‘stepping up the political responsibility of Parties involved in Elections, and eliminating the so-called ‘technical´ parties from the political process, thus increasing the efficiency of the mediate Democracy and the Party system, and improving confidence in political parties´.

 

Committee members noted that according to the Bill, a Party is entitled to nominate candidates for Presidential and Parliamentary elections where it has been registered at least 730 days prior to the date of the intended election To take part in elections of The Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Local Councils of all levels, the Local Organisation of a political party must has been registered at least 365 days prior to the election date.
