The Committee on Judicial Policy scrutinized the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On The Verkhovna Rada of Crimean Autonomous Republic" (re Terms of Office of the Deputies of The Verkhovna Rada of Crimean Autonomous Republic) as regards its Compliance with the Constitution of Ukraine

The Bill (Reg. No.1428) amends Article 4 of the said Law, extending the terms of authority of The Verkhovna Rada of Crimean Autonomous Republic from four to five years.

 

The Committee members stated that the said Bill complies with the Constitution of Ukraine. Pursuant to the Constitution of Ukraine (Part 1, Article 141), terms of office of the deputies of village, settlement, district, and regional councils are defined for the period of five years.
